I’m a mother of a teenaged boy & girl and a wife of 20+ years. I love my family and all the excitement they bring. The family wouldn’t be complete without the critters – so add 3 cats, 1 dog and a couple of hermit crabs. All but the crabs are rescues. Without the support of the family, following my dream wouldn’t be possible. We play, travel and dine together (love food) and generally enjoy life all around.
I’m a natural born people person – my mother would say I could get the life history of someone in record time. I have 30 years’ experience in customer service industries. Heck, I worked a Help Desk and was an ‘Escalation Manager’ where service challenges were sent when others couldn’t resolve them. I’m proud to say that I never had a customer complaint against me. I’m cool, calm & collected, a problem solver, and have a great sense of humour which can usually diffuse tension in no time at all. I go with the flow and if somebody wants to make bunny ears in a wedding photo because that’s who they are, then who am I to stop them?! Someone once said to me as I photographed a wedding, ‘wow, you’re a lot of fun’. It’s your special day. I sure hope we can have fun.
Photography is my passion. I’m not doing this because it’s ‘just a job’. I’m doing it because standing behind the camera is one of the things I love most. I thrive on being part of the emotion and energy of a special day. I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was a kid. I started out with a focus on scenery. Most of us drive by beauty every day and don’t see it. I see and appreciate beauty in everything – probably a little too much if you were to ask my kids and husband. A bumper sticker will soon be forthcoming along the lines of ‘photographer on board – this vehicle makes unexpected stops’. Just because there are no leaves on the trees, there’s snow on the ground, or it’s raining, doesn’t mean your photos can’t be beautiful. You’re the focus – the background is there to enhance your own beauty. I work with what Mother Nature has given us.
I may be based in Calgary but love to travel, so take me with you. I’m willing and available to go worldwide!
Intrigued… let’s get together and chat. An old-fashioned phone call is a great starting point, but maybe we could do coffee, tea, or start with an email…
