A red carpet event with a Madmen theme (50’s & 60’s inspired glamour) attracted enthusiastic crowds in excess of 500 last weekend at the fabulous Belgo Brasserie.
I had the pleasure of being the roving photographer for Jeff B. Wilkie’s Birthday Benefit. A minimum $10 donation at the door, along with a silent auction, 50/50, and prize raffles ensured generous donations were raised in support of Little Warriors – a national organization committed to the awareness, prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse.
Kudos go out to Jeff for sharing his special day in such a fantastic way. All the volunteers who worked incredibly hard to pull off an event of this caliber. Modern Socialite for their large role and publicity – they have even more images to display. And That “Don Cherry” Guy (impersonator Clark Robertson) was amazing.
Suprisingly enough, I’m also able to tie this event into this week’s Photo Challenge: Create.
Guests were incredibly creative getting into the spirit of the era. Inspiration had been pulled from the likes of Jackie O., Liza Minnelli, Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly. Beehives and bright red lipstick abounded. And what better way to show off their creations…
