Spring has definitely arrived in Calgary. Six inches of snow one day, +27C (80F) three days later. Trees are offering subtle hints of green. Perennials are peeking through flowerbeds and the odd patch of Crocus display their delicate blossoms. Garden Centres are gearing up while the sounds of aerators and mowers hit the air. Die-hard Calgarians know we’re not out of the woods. There’s bound to be one more snowfall and a few more frosts, but hope looms eternal before the Victoria Day planting season swings into full force.
With the exception of a couple of early lush green crops sprouting in farmers fields, the brown tones still prevail.
Captured these on the way back from a Pony Club meeting one frosty foggy Saturday.
